Corporate Compliance Archivist I — January 2023 to January 2024

  • Oversaw the creation and maintenance of all records management procedures and protocols.
  • Reviewed archival submissions, both physical and electronic, for completeness and accuracy. Ensured these materials were organized, traceable, and maintained properly while archived.
  • Created and managed the Archive Inventory Database (AID), a SmartSheet Workspace that trackedd the status and location of all materials within the physical and electronic archive.
  • Trained and supervised archive personnel in their records management work.
  • Created and implemented trainings for non-archive personnel to facilitate efficient archival submission procedures.
  • Participated in regular Sponsor audits to retrieve the appropriate documents, explain the archival process, and verify compliance with established procedures.

Digital Archives Intern — May 2022 to December 2022

  • Worked with records management software ICMS – Rediscovery to locate collection records and assemble image/item metadata in different spreadsheets organized by collection, series, and subseries.
  • Embedded detailed metadata in over 3,000 images.
  • Executed quality control checks on previously created metadata for errors and to make sure it met contemporary National Park Service standards.
  • Coordinated and executed workflow to batch upload images and metadata between three different internal systems.
  • Researched the site’s collection to write a comprehensive Research Guide to Black History in the Longfellow Archives and migrated the guide to the National Park Service’s content management system, CommonSpot.

  • Assisted the UASC team in their creation of the Roadmap for Participatory Archiving (RoPA) website by reviewing content, finding photographs, getting image permissions, researching participatory archiving programs and repositories, and writing short descriptions.
  • Designed the social media plan for RoPA including creating one month of content for a future GSA to utilize.
  • Transcribed and reviewed transcriptions of dozens of interviews from our University Archives and Special Collections using oTranscribe, including Mass. Memories Road Show (MMRS) video interviews and long-form audio interviews of Congressional Medal of Honor recipients.
  • Created lists of corrections to digital collections’ metadata in preparation for the collections to be uploaded to the UASC’s Open Archives.
  • Wrote blog posts celebrating the addition of new collections to the MMRS digital collection.

Lighting the Way – Historic Women of the SouthCoast

Public History Intern — January 2022 to May 2022

  • Created a comprehensive spreadsheet based on three previous documents to store the metadata and location information for all assets used in profiles on Lighting the Way (LtW).
  • Wrote a new standard for citation of assets and started assembling citations for images based on the new standard.
  • Researched and wrote a profile on Aurélia Benoit Lebeau to be featured on LtW.
  • Worked with the community to update profiles and correct errors on LtW using WordPress.
  • Explored the Grimshaw-Gudewicz Reading Room and Archives and made note of items that can be added to LtW to highlight women of color.

  • Wrote nine blog posts for the UASC Open Archives News featuring our digital collections.
  • Curated twenty-seven Instagram posts for the @umbarchives account using photographs and other digital representations of items from our collections.
  • Re-homed and re-labeled physically and intellectually sensitive collections.
  • Transcribed part of the catalog of families for the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (MSPCC) collection to make the collection more easily accessible.
  • Created descriptive text and confirmed metadata for posters from the Stephen Lewis poster collection.
  • Created inventories for eighteen collections to be deaccessioned.
  • Finished writing the finding aid for the Narraganset Bay Wheelman newsletter collection and moved the physical newsletters to new archival-quality folders and boxes.

  • Used the existing ACT digital assets related to Otto Piene to draft a virtual exhibit titled “Sky Art” for the ACT MIT Virtual Museum.
  • Assisted supervisor in filling reference requests: finding materials and creating use agreements.

  • Scanned materials, uploaded them to ArchivesSpace as digital objects, and connected them with their collections’ finding aids.

PR Coordinator — January 2021 to June 2021

  • On a team of two, promoted MHA’s 2021 annual conference by posting materials on Facebook, creating blogs on the MHA website using WordPress, Formidable, and Yop Poll, and sending out announcements through the MHA listserv.
  • On the day of the conference, hosted Zoom meetings, helped mitigate unexpected technical difficulties, and worked directly with staff and attendees to find solutions.

For the five years between undergraduate and graduate school, I lived in Tokyo, Japan, Milwaukee, WI, and Mansfield, MA. I held jobs in the education field as well as customer service positions at companies including Buffalo Wild Wings, SSA Group, and Trader Joe’s. Curatorial Intern — Fall 2013 to Winter 2014

  • Conducted archival research with Professor Leah Niederstadt on the Newell Bequest, the largest gift of artwork donated to Wheaton.
  • Assisted Professor Niederstadt in compiling and analyzing research for publication.
  • Supervised and trained Collection Assistants and completed all duties of a Collection Assistant.

Wheaton Research Partner — Spring 2013

  • Conducted research at Wheaton College and Yale University into the history of the Newell Bequest.
  • Compared artifacts to an appraisal inventory of the Newell Bequest, then accessioned, renamed, and rehoused the objects in archival-quality storage materials.

Collection Assistant — Summer 2011 to Summer 2012

  • Accessioned new objects into the Permanent Collection, completing relevant paperwork, researching artists, objects, and donors, and creating paper and electronic records.
  • Assisted curator with retrieval and rehousing of objects and set up for class visits.
